Fashion || Etsy Fall Wants

I get sooo stinking excited for fall. I love love love waking up to a dark house and cuddling under the covers (even though it's soooo hard to wake up), pumpkin flavored things EVERYWHERE, drinking tea under an afghan, plants greening up (that's what happens here in the desert), and most of all, fall fashion.

Here are some things that I'm really into for fall and winter.

Nordic Prints/ Ponchos (of course... I'm a poncho-holic)

Biker Jackets (I'm dying for one!)

Long Sleeved Mini Dresses (If I had to choose one dress to describe me I might choose this one)

Patterned Tights (especially swiss dots and hearts : )

What special pieces are you looking for to jazz up your wardrobe this season?

Etsy Love: Lucky Labs

Guess what I just got?

This awesome laptop cover from Lucky Labs. It's sooo handsome.

It was a slow day at the shop today. I drank a yummy soy latte from one of my favorite coffee shops, Urban Beans (it's my favorite cause all my friends work there. Pop in and say hi to them : ) and enjoyed the pretty weather.

Hope you had a great day.

New Favorites

With getting Christmas and Birthday money I've been doing A LOT of browsing online. I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite shops! Some are new finds and others are oldies, but definitely goodies. Check em out!

From stationary to totes and even onesies, Dutch Door Press makes some pretty adorable things.

I wish I could knit really well. If I could, I'd be getting ALL of the lovely patterns over at Tiny Owl's Magic Attic. I am speechless- I am in love.

My sister and I visited Lemon Bird's booth at Renegade in LA last summer. We literally hung around their booth the longest, tasting everything and trying to come up with uses for each and every one of their jams. I really wanna get a membership to their Jam of the Month club but I'm not sure I can eat that much jam! Presents and giveaways perhaps?

My GROWop buddies and I were honored to be able to be a part in this awesome basement sale back in December. It took place in a real life bomb shelter where I met so many cool folks with all kinds of awesome (and affordable) goodies. One business that was there was Flour Vintage. Check out these beauties!

How great are all of these shops? Have you found any amazing Etsy shops lately?

10 Best Fally Things for You and Your Home

I love Fall and, to be honest, its really irritating that while everyone is enjoying cool temperatures, sweaters and cuddling up with someone special we are dealing with temperatures in the 90s. Can you believe it? For those of you who are soaking up the loveliness of Fall, here are my 10 favorite things for you and your home. And guess what? They were all found on Etsy (except one) so you can snatch em up. (P.S. Send me some pictures of leaves and things so I can pretend!).

Berets
I reeeeally wanna be good at wearing hats. My friend Jasmine is the best at wearing hats. Maybe if I practice... : )

Vintage Collars
Fancy Lucky Vintage
I looove collars. (Remember my post about Peter Pan collars?) I got a lovely vintage crocheted collar on my summer vacation- I can't wait to wear it!

Yummy Smelling Candles
Greenbriar
It doesn't feel like fall without a yummy spicy candle burning.

Tea
The Loose Leaf
I am soooo glad I found this shop! I wanna try everything in it! I have been trying to get off caffeine and have really taking a liking to tea- I wanna be one of those wine folks who knows all the tastes and flavors... but with tea.

Saddle Shoes
Anna's Attic
I just got some pretty little saddle shoes over the summer. But check out these blue ones- adorable! (FYI- there are tons of good ones in 7-7.5 on Etsy. If you wear that size you should check it out!)

Knee Socks
Xenia Home
Sooo lovely.

Afghans
Bird in Hand
There's nothing like curling up in a cozy afghan with a cup of tea and reading a book.

Pumpkin-y Treats
I wanna make or eat these NOW.

Ponchos
Apricot Baby Baby
Ponchos are perfect for fall-y months cause they are cozy and keep you warm but not too warm. If I had an extra $50 you better believe I'd snatch this little one up! I'm so in love!

Yarn
Sosae Caetano
Wouldn't you love to receive something handmade with this pretty hand spun yarn?

Merry May Farm, I Trade Handmade, and More!

Announcing the new and improved, Merry May Farm!!

So... I don't know if you remember but I talked a while back about how I was working on making some changes around here. Long story short- I have been working really hard over the past year or so at making changes in my life. I am working at figuring out what is important to me and how to put those things first- how to create a life I am passionate about. Well one of the things I really wanted to do was revamp my Etsy shop. I created it a loooong time ago- kind of on a whim- then neglected it since. So I've been working hard to fill it with things I love. As many of you, I really want to be able to create a life for myself through blogging, creating, and collecting- my favorite things.  I know its a long, tough road ahead but good things are worth fighting for.

One a similar note, I am proud and excited to announce that I jumped on the "I Trade Handmade" bandwagon. If you don't already know about it, "I Trade Handmade" was conceived over at Under Those Neon Lights (awesome blog) and offers a whole list of amazing crafters willing to trade their handmade goods! This is so fun and I am happy to be part of it for various reasons. In fact, I have a little challenge coming up later this week that should explain more.

P.S. If you find something in my shop you can't live without, be sure to include (in the message to the seller part) that you are my blog friend. I'll include a super special present for you : )

Workin' Hard

I've been working hard and fast at revamping my sad and lonely Etsy shop.

Looong story short-I made this headband right before a company Christmas party because I was lacking something fun to wear. Before the party I went to the annual Crafeteria at Francis, an amazing local boutique. Georgeanne, the amazingly smart and talented owner of Francis told me I should make some more to sell in her shop. Well, from there I expanded and asked my Butter Toast friends if I could sell them in their shop and they kindly obliged. I made an Etsy shop to get my work out there but over the past couple months have decided to give it a BIG face lift.

I am working hard at intorducing a new crop of vintage home goods to Merry May Farm! Here's a sneak peak : )

Do you have an Etsy shop? How did you get started and what are your goals for it?

Where you'll never have to worry about grown up things again...

I seriously am having a hard time grasping that stores are beginning to get Autumn merchandise. Maybe it's because I am no longer in school (read: no back to school shopping) or because I live in sunny Phoenix and the thought of the a day that fails to reach triple digits seems laughable. Anyways, I am dying for peter pan collars for the fall season!

And check out this awesome peter pan collar tutorial!
Oh and P.S. Tomorrow I'll be posting a giveaway!! Yippee!

Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes.

As some of you may know there have been some big changes in the air. And for the most part they are pretty good things. I have decided to readjust my life a bit- to allow for more time to create and blog (I'll explain more soon). I started out blogging to deal with a personal crisis but it has slowly become very important to me and I have gained so much inspiration from you all. I have come to realize how important it is for me to continually be engaged in the creative process. I have stacks of sticky notes and pages of my journal filled with ideas and creations. However I never quite have the time to put all of these ideas into action.

So why am I writing this, you ask? First, I wanted to ask you how you find balance and make time for art and crafting in your life? Sometimes it is hard to make the things you love a priority when the world tells you that you should be doing something else. And second, I was hoping y'all could keep me accountable. Check in, tell me the things you are creating- let's share ideas!

Well thanks for listening! Y'all are the best! XO

P.S. The top two photos have been stored on my computer for ages. I love them so much. If you happen to know where they are from please let me know so I can give credit where it is due. Thanks :)
