OUR FIRST EVENT OF THE SEASON!!!!

OMG OMG OMG OMG.  Our first event of the season is this SATURDAY!!! From 6-8 we will be at Medlock Plaza's Short Leash Saturday. I can't wait and here's why:

• Short Leash is amazing. Mmmm.
• Medlock Plaza events are always SO fun.
• I love everyone who works at Frances and Smeeks. EVERYONE.
• Georgeann is my hero.
• I wanna shop my face off and buy all of the fall goodies at Frances. There is a striped peplum top that needs to be mine.
• I wanna eat so much candy at Smeeks.
• And the biggest reason I can't wait- HOPEFULLY I'll see many of your sweet faces again! I'm so eager to get out and catch up with all of you wonderful people!

Weekend Plans

This weekend I'll be heading to Apache Lake for the Apache Lake music festival. I'm pretty excited for it- hanging by the lake, amazing weather, incredible friends, good tunes... It's gonna be wonderful. Sunghost (Trev's band) and a ton of other friend's bands will be playing throughout the next few days. I won't be able to make it until Saturday- which means I will miss the first two days of the festival. BOO. If you are planning on going give me a holler so we can dance together. All night long. Forever.

Frances Crafeteria/Urban Beans

This weekend was so fun. First off I started by participating the 5th annual Crafeteria at Frances, Phoenix's best indie craft fair. It was so fun and I met so many cool people! I even had a few folks come up to my booth and tell me they read my blog!! (Hello Ladies!!) It was so so exciting!

I did not exactly have time to get some really good pictures, which is a total bummer cause there was some seriously cute stuff I know y'all would love. I sold upcycled/repurposed grandpy sweaters and fur collars, and doily bowls filled with vintage ornaments. I was honored to display some things Etsy sent us on my booth. It was fun being able to talk to people about Etsy and the handmade movement.

On Sunday we had a booth at Urban Beans, a really good coffee shop here is Phoenix (7th st just North of Osborn. My friends Andrea and Rebecca work there so be sure to say hello!) It was really fun to spend the day surrounded my all the pretty things in our shop, relaxing after a busy weekend. 

Kenny, one of my partners in the GROWop also runs the urban garden that surrounds our shop (I know, I know I seriously need to tell you all about the GROWop and show you pictures). He brought some veggies for us to package and sell. It was so good to be able to just hang out with Kenny and I am so so excited for where the GROWop is going. I think we've got a pretty special team and I am so thankful for my boys : )

Today was crazy!

I was so so happy when I went for my walk this morning. There were these huuuge, dark clouds and the wind was blowing and I almost needed a sweater! It was amazing. Then at lunch, the storm got intense- the roads turned to rivers and it dropped like 20 degrees! It was hailing like crazy and water was leaking into the restaurant where we were eating. (I should also say that up until now we have been stuck with triple digit temps still!).

When we got back to work it was CHAOS! The roof on the north side of the building gave it from the weight of the water. There was water everywhere and most of the office workers and most of the managers from the shop were working at getting the water out- sweeping, squeegeeing, wet vac-ing.

It sucked, of course, but it was really great to see everyone working so hard for our little family like company. The guys from the shop even had a little pizza picnik after all the clean up.

It's still raining. I kinda love it but here in Phoenix folks don't know what to do when these things happen- we get tons of wrecks and things like that. So I suppose I'll stay in for the rest of the night! I hope you had an eventful day : )

Weekend Recap

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and squeezed in some fun fall-y things. The fashion show I helped with turned out really great.

I was super excited because we finished up JUST IN TIME for me to catch the Casiotone for the Painfully Alone show at the Trunk Space (which is conveniently right down the street from Bragg's Pie Factory ). I had not planned on going because of the fashion show and kept reminding myself I had already seen Casiotone while living in Denver (even though I was dying to go to the first show in the LAST tour!). I certainly got lucky.

I spent Sunday with my family having a Dexter premier party (did you watch it?!). Anyways, I

had a great, magical weekend and I hope you did too!

P.S. Virtual craft night is in the works. Kara and I have come up with some good ideas I am really excited about!
