Garden || Update

This weekend might have been my favorite weekend. Trevor and I slept in, grabbed fancy coffee drinks and went to Root for their Saturday plant sale. If you're local and haven't been you should definitely go. It's full of beautiful plants, smart and interesting people, and they sometimes even have free classes. We got lettuces, tomatoes, and strawberries along with some compost and soil amendments. Yesterday we planted our goodies. Hopefully the freak winter storms and random snow is over with and these little babies will flourish.

Garden || Update

Our garden took a pretty fierce hit a couple weeks ago. While the folks on the East coast were having a welcomed heat wave, we had super cold temps and a string of below freezing nights. We covered everything as best we could but still had some casualties. We decided to rip out everything that we couldn't save, transport the survivors to our raised beds, and work on prepping our soil for our next big growing season.

I'm happy to say we saved a bunch of lettuce, kale, lavender, and rosemary and we are working on bringing back some broccoli but they sure don't look very happy.
