This weekend I'll be heading to Apache Lake for the Apache Lake music festival. I'm pretty excited for it- hanging by the lake, amazing weather, incredible friends, good tunes... It's gonna be wonderful. Sunghost (Trev's band) and a ton of other friend's bands will be playing throughout the next few days. I won't be able to make it until Saturday- which means I will miss the first two days of the festival. BOO. If you are planning on going give me a holler so we can dance together. All night long. Forever.
What do you have planned for the weekend? Have a super time and be safe <3

Tunes || Sunghost
Today is the day! My dear friends' band Sunghost is releasing side A of their new album "Glitter, Guns, and Gold"! I'm so proud of them. They have been working so hard and the album is really good so far. They are definitely the kinda guys who are just so stoked to be playing music and I think you can feel that in their music. They are all really talented at what they do and I'm so excited to see where they go. I love my friends : )
Anyways, they are doing this pretty neat thing where they release side A first and side B later. What's cool about it is that each week they will feature a new song, tell us a bit about it, and include neat little extras- like videos, artwork, etc. I love the social aspect/community building they are creating. Follow them on FB if you wanna be all up in the action (side note: disregard today's silly comment they posted about how glitter is useless- they clearly don't know what they are talking about. Glitter for life!). You can also buy side A in full on their bandcamp page. You can decide what you think it's worth and all the money raised goes to making side B. Treat yo'self and take a looksie.

Tunes || Fall Music
Everywhere else in America is experiencing the loveliness that is Fall. However, I'm filled with rage because of the unrelenting heat. Every single year, around this time, I get grumpy and pout my little face off. UNTIL we get a day like yesterday. It was windy and overcast most of the day. I spent my evening sipping tea, wearing a sweater (might have been a little overkill on my part), and listening to the rain through my screen door. It was so fabulous.
So I thought I'd post a playlist of tunes that remind me of fall. Hope you enjoy.

Summer Songs
Since it's the first official day of summer, I thought I'd share with all you lovely folks out there some of my favorite songs that remind me of summer.
This one actually doesn't necesarrily remind me of summer- I just found it while searching and love both Owen Pallatt and Joanna Newsome : )

20 Albums
I saw this super neat list of Top 20 Most Influential Albums over at Kara's blog, Sunshine Cupcakes. If you haven't checked out her blog you totally should- she is hilarious. So I thought I'd do my own. Let me just say it was super hard to do this.
As I kept brainstorming more and more things came to mind. I decided to stick with albums that had an impact, not only on my musical tastes today, but also albums that inspire me- you know, the ones that give you that feeling in your gut. So here goes!

Weekend Recap
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and squeezed in some fun fall-y things. The fashion show I helped with turned out really great.
I don't really think these pictures do it justice but I didn't get a chance to snap some of my own. You can see more pictures here.
I was super excited because we finished up JUST IN TIME for me to catch the Casiotone for the Painfully Alone show at the Trunk Space (which is conveniently right down the street from Bragg's Pie Factory ). I had not planned on going because of the fashion show and kept reminding myself I had already seen Casiotone while living in Denver (even though I was dying to go to the first show in the LAST tour!). I certainly got lucky.
(Here is an awesome Casiotone for the Painfully Alone video featuring Julia Pott)
I spent Sunday with my family having a Dexter premier party (did you watch it?!). Anyways, I
had a great, magical weekend and I hope you did too!
P.S. Virtual craft night is in the works. Kara and I have come up with some good ideas I am really excited about!

Off to LA
I'm off to LA this weekend for FYF Fest. I am really psyched because this is my first ever music festival and it looks to be a really good one. There are so many good bands and, as luck would have it, almost none of the bands I want to see overlap!

Ryan Gosling's band, Dead Man's Bones, will be there and I have this theory that if we make eye contact he will instantly fall in love with me : ) Wish me luck!
If you wanna pretend you are there with me follow my twitter, where I'll be trying to tweet every fun little thing I see or hear while I'm there. Have a great long weekend!
