Six Things Phoenix Might Probably Need I think

Phoenix has really come quite a long way and it's getting cooler and cooler each day. I mean, I'm totally stoken on Filmbar, we've got the awesome market, lots of good coffee shops, the lightrail zippin through, and food trucks running rampant. Here's some other stuff I think we might probably need.

A super cute flower shop.
Flower Girl, NYC.
To turn the old buildings into hip, multiuse living spaces and storefronts, restoring the original architecture. (ie: not tearing em down to start from scratch and not letting aASU snatch em up to build parking structures on. And P.S. we don’t need any more new, stucco, blah places k? Why build from scratch when we've got architectural gems standing empty?)
Luhrs Building, Downtown Phx.

An awesome bakery or two.

Babycakes, NYC.
More vegan restaurants and options (maybe a vegan ice cream shop or something rad like that, eh?).

Yes, this Cheesy Mac and Rib sandwich is vegan. Mmmm.

KindKreme, LA.

Greenspace.

Unpack a park. Whaa? RAD.

Some cool boutique hotels.

Hotel San Jose, Austin, TX.

This all reminds me of the old argument- which came first- the rad downtown? or the rad folks inhabiting it? Do you invest time and money into it hoping the right folks will stumble upon it or do you get the right people's interest before you invest?

What are some things you LOVE about your home town? What are some things you'd like to see different?

I miiiiissssed yooouuu!

I'm back! I had a super fun time in Nashville and met loads of cool folks (with super cute accents). I was really bummed to discover that the camera I brought was missing a memory card : ( Boo. So no pictures. But trust that it was super lovely. It snowed while I was there and we ate cookies and drank cocoa and everyone went sledding (on cookie sheets!I didn't go sledding, though. Of course, this silly ol Phoenix girl was ill-prepared for cold weather).

I got back last week but tried to avoid technology for a bit. It was bittersweet. It was kinda nice to be disconnected for a bit. But I missed you all a whole bunch!!

On a different note- I have spent a while thinking about everything. I have decided to put my Etsy on hold for a bit. I really want to spend more time working on the GROWop and on this blog! If you haven't already noticed, I tend to spread myself a little thin. Aaaand I also tend to be a little all over the place, haha. I think it would be really beneficial for me to refine my goals, hobbies, and style. So I was wondering if you might help me? What do you like about this blog? What would you like to see more or less of?

Bisbee and Tombstone

Last weekend I went to Bisbee for my baby sister's 18th birthday. It was super fun and filled with lots of exploring, plenty of antiquing, old movies, and even a trip into a mine. Take a little looksie at some of the photos I snapped.

Off to LA

I'm off to LA this weekend for FYF Fest. I am really psyched because this is my first ever music festival and it looks to be a really good one. There are so many good bands and, as luck would have it, almost none of the bands I want to see overlap!

FYF FEST 2009 from CATJAM Studio on Vimeo.

Ryan Gosling's band, Dead Man's Bones, will be there and I have this theory that if we make eye contact he will instantly fall in love with me : ) Wish me luck!

If you wanna pretend you are there with me follow my twitter, where I'll be trying to tweet every fun little thing I see or hear while I'm there. Have a great long weekend!
