Love and other junk

Today is me and the mister's 10 month anniversary. I've never been the pda type, never gave a thought to stupid monthly anniversaries, and definitely never been the type to post this kinda junk on my blog. But hey, they say you know it's meant to be when you break all the rules right?

Our first anniversary was just after Valentines day which is why we tend to remember. And our two month anniversary was a big deal because, when we previously dated, we hardly made it to two months. And our three month anniversary was huge because we not only made it to two months, we surpassed it. I didn't expect it to last even that long. So romantic huh?

As a very independent person, I had a hard time even agreeing to get back together with Trevor.  It's kinda silly but I didn't exactly want to share my time and I wasn't looking to be in a relationship. I had a lot of things going on and felt like a relationship would only take time away from all the things I was trying to do. But that's what's magical about it all. We had built a strong friendship since our previous dating attempt and came to know each other for the good and the bad- and Trevor loved me for that and supported my need for independence.  And, surprisingly, I was the one to sacrifice my independence. Not because he asked or anything but because he made me want to open up and share my life with him. And there you have it. We've been being stupid and having fun together ever since.

Anyways, blah blah. Love you Trev <3

Urban Farming in Phoenix

Crazy girls

As you know, about a month ago we got chickens! After talking and researching, we found a fab deal on Craigslist and decided to just go for it. It was an awesome decision and I'm so glad we did it. Chickens are basically the most low maintenance pet ever. They are also super dumb and thus, super fun to watch.  Up until now, the oppressive heat and molting kept the ladies from producing eggs. We got our first eggs recently and it was sooo exciting. We have now been getting an egg every other day or so. I'm sure production will pick up in the coming months. I'm pretty much addicted and want to get more chickens. Next year I would like to build a larger coop and get a few more birds.

Anyways, I've been seeing posters about this years Tour De Coops and I can't wait! I found these rad Phoenix urban farm blogs through the Tour De Coops page.

and check this out- Farmyard- you can hire them to not only install a garden for you but also maintain it (even though that takes a lot of the fun out of it).

Also, for any of you seasoned farmers out there, we've had a little problem with our big white hen (Maggie.. technically her name is Maggie's Boobs hahaha. Like that episode of Community) being a bully! She won't let the other (Princess Beyonce... from the tv show Raising Hope) eat or drink and she will peck at her if she tries to get food. Any tips on how to stop her from being a bitch?

New Adventures || I'm a mommy!

Trevor and I are the proud parents of these hot babes. We haven't decided on names yet but were thinking either:

Princess Beyonce (from the tv show Raising Hope. Have you seen it? I looove the grandma), Katy Perry, and Sean Bonnett (from my favorite band Andrew Jackson Jihad. Even though it's a boy's name).

Dasi, Danielle, and Maggie after my close friends (I thought it'd be funny to be like, "hey I'm just hanging out with the girls". I like funny).

Maybe something from the Golden Girls?? Harry Potter?

Other? Any suggestions? What do ya think?

Home Inspiration || More living room

If you follow me on Pinterest you probably already know that most of the things I've been thinking about lately are home related. I showed you some of my inspiration for our living room, inspiration for our bedroom and I've continued to collect inspirations. It's coming along slowly but surely but we definitely need furniture. We also definitely need to get rid of some junk. And by we I mean me. SIDENOTE: Trev's pretty much a no frill, only the basics kinda guy- he's the type that could probably,definitely create a pretty damn good life living in the middle of the woods, into the wild style (without dying). But me, I have so much shit. So many chotchkies and collections and things I think I can't survive without. Bleh!

So anyways, this shows the basic layout of our space.... you know, without that crooked wall and stuff. what makes decorating a bit difficult is that the living room space is pretty large. It is definitely nice to have the space but somewhat difficult to create a cozy room. Any ideas or pointers? It's so exciting to have so many possibilities but a bit overwhelmed too. Here are some (more) spaces that inspire me : )

Hmmm maybe I should paint it white? Also, I'm in search for the perfect hutch so if you've got suggestions give me a holler.

Home Inspiration || Bedroom

I seriously can't stop thinking about decorating this damn house of mine. Pinterest and design blogs only make it worse. And since we are lacking the funds to do all the things I want to do I am basically torturing myself on a daily basis. I've decided to focus most of our energy at the moment on the living room and our bedroom and let the other rooms kinda fall by the wayside for the time being. I've been meaning to take some photos of the place to post on here but.... It'll happen eventually.

Here are some bedrooms that really get me goin. Just lovely.

We have one long wall in our room that I would LOVE to wallpaper in this.

Why my boyfriend is like, sooo totally radical

I saw this post on Chalk White Arrow and thought it was way cute. So I thought I'd post about some of the little things that make Trev extra special and super cool. Eat your heart out ladies ; )

  • he acts like a fool and he owns it. he thinks it's funny. he's right.
  • he can grow a gnarly beard.
  • he's a smarty pants.
  • he says things like, "that really gets my goat!" (like a grandpa!)
  • he wakes up every morning around 6:30 to make me coffee. even though he doesn't have to be to work till 9.
  • he's really good at almost everything he tries. music, writing, cuddling, coffee making...
  • he rarely loses his cool and is almost always positive.
  • he thinks i'm awesome and funny and sings along when i dance to Katy Perry.
